the nineties
My works during the nineties were essentially characterized by the purposes of telling stories using oil, acrylic and watercolours techniques.  During that period I developed several series which were exhibited in Portuguese galleries; ‘Tempo de espantalhos’; ‘Women Stories’ ‘Folias ; ‘Waterportraits’ and ‘Bestioles’. The series Waterportraits (1997-98) and Bestioles were for me the opportunity to develop watercolours and to try collage skills with basic graphic computer programmes; in there I tried to discover what is beyond human faces; the liquidness of thought.

After 1998 I become interested in Internet as a mean to share ideas with other artists. Ex- R2001 (http://r2001.com/), former R2001 provided me the appropriate network to try different things. Alternative 1 project was the first concretisation of my emerging concept of sharing arts with public through interactive events such as performance and digital works. My art concepts, which were very modernist in my starting years, moved towards broader definitions including all sorts of art expression and collaborative ephemeral work combining for example music; visual arts; dance and other media.

At the same time; I searched my roots as a Portuguese woman and started the Women Stories  project; in the beginning it was the investigation part for a tile panel for my city Viseu. It was my first complete project about my family and my country; in which  I tried to tell the memories of the women in my family and the lost rural society of my childworld.
